Apple Deletes Over 500 Domain Names

Apple has deleted over 500 domain names this week, and decided not to renew these domain names. Most of these domain names were registered by Apple exactly one year ago, and after coming up for renewal they have not renewed them. Apple Owns Mystery Domains, Hosted on Amazon Cloud Server

While doing some digging around today, I noticed that Apple, Inc. owns a bunch of nonsensical domain names that use Apple’s own DNS, but are hosted on Amazon’s cloud server. On January 29, 2014, Apple registered two different domain names that appear to make no sense (at least to me): hs76ksgxebfh2md.com.

Apple iPhone Doesn’t Recognize New gTLD Domain Names

Now today I have discovered that Apple’s iPhone email does not recognize the new gTLDs, as well. But it’s actually even worse with Apple: they don’t recognize.biz,info, and.tv — Bill Hartzer (@bhartzer) May 22, 2014. What really surprises me is that Apple doesn’t recognize the gTLDs.

I am certain that these are connected to Apple in some way because of the history of Apple registering (and then dropping) nonsense domain names in the past.
