Latest with Places to match location-based services like Foursquare and Gowalla. And now Facebook has launched Questions after Quora has been buzzing for a while.

Using GPS chips embedded in your smartphone and latitude/longitude addresses, it is fairly easy for me to log into an app such as Foursquare , Loopt , or Google Latitude and (if your privacy settings allow me to) see who is proximate to my location. This privacy intrusion is why I deleted my Foursquare account two years ago.

I can see myself using it like that a LOT, thought of a few this morning based on question threads I was browsing. You post a question, you get answers. The site is very actively moderated , so the questions have to be asked in a particular way, so it’s not personal to the questioner, and so it’s not a yes/no answer.
