I bet you didn’t know that there is a simple version of Wikipedia, the popular online encyclopedia. While we certainly are familiar with the more technical side of Wikipedia, if you replace the “en” in the Wikipedia URL of any entry with “simple”, you will get the “simple” version of that entry.

Here are the key factors I think the perfect "Family Tree" would include: Each individual has their own, unique URL. There could be discussion pages for each individual similar to wikipedia for any disagreements. I've talked before about how I think there needs to be more semantic standards adoption in Genealogy.

I started telling her about the Wikipedia article on Pluto. You may remember that Pluto got kicked out of the planet club a couple of years ago, so all of a sudden there was all of this activity on Wikipedia. The Alexa Rankings, however, are different than the Alexa Hot URLs , which isn’t as easily manipulated and therefore I would assume is more accurate. In fact, you’re likely spotting the shift; instead of companies posting their URLs on television commercials, they’re asking their followers to join them on Facebook.
