Pass Dynamic Purchase Value With Meta Events

Jon Loomer

If you pass purchase events to Meta via the pixel and API, you may be aware of a challenge: What do you do when the value of the purchase is variable? Here’s an example of the purchase event code and parameters that you’d use when you know that the price of a product is $147… fbq('track', 'Purchase', { value: 147.00, currency: 'USD' }); This is great when the loading of a specific page (like a confirmation page) means that someone purchased a product for $147.

Holiday Meta Ad CPM Results

Jon Loomer

What happened to CPMs over the holidays? I talked on a couple of other videos ( here and here ) about how the increase in holiday CPMs is no longer automatic these days. So what happened during the past week? I use the Within Marketing Pulse Dashboard to monitor this and they aggregate ad performance data for their partners. While Instagram CPM increased year over year earlier in November, both Facebook and Instagram CPM were down since Thanksgiving compared to the same days in 2022.

You’ve Got This

Jon Loomer

I’ve been pretty open about my struggles over the past three years. The start of the pandemic sent me on (or accelerated) a motivational spiral that led to two very trying years in business. A year ago, I made the commitment to short-form video with the full belief that it would turn things around. While I’d repeatedly get reminders that it was working, it felt like blind faith at times since things weren’t turning around financially.

Biggest Mistake New Creators Make

This is the biggest mistake new content creators make. I have a unique perspective because I’ve succeeded as a blogger and short-form video creator. I also have the perspective of quitting at other content too soon. From the start, new creators connect their efforts to revenue.
