When it comes to turning casual visitors into regular readers there are two main options—FeedBurner and Aweber. FeedBurner uses Feed-based technology (RSS and Atom) to send updates to your blog subscribers. Owned by Google (Google bought it in 2007 for $100 million), FeedBurner is one of the biggest feed syndicators on the Internet.

Using a tool like FeedBurner or the WordPress MailPoet plugin, you can add a form to your blog that easily allows your visitors to subscribe. As an example just take a look at the SocMedSean.com homepage and you’ll see that I have a form at the top of my blog that encourages folks to subscribe.

RSS Stats – If you’re using a tool like Feedburner to manage your RSS feeds you’ll have access to more useful information. For example if you use Google Analytics and AdSense you’ll be able to see what specific pages are earning more than others.

When you register, use your main blog feed URL vs. your FeedBurner URL. If you hover over your CommentLuv links and notice they are pointing to [link] as opposed to the direct URL for your article, you will need to go into your FeedBurner account and under the feed’s Analyze tab, click on the Configure Stats under Services.

Think of it as the original Twitter!

If you put in the name of a blog, say for example google tutor , if it finds a feed with exactly that name you will be subscribed automatically (read more here ). You can see an example of this in the picture. Often, that link will take you to a FeedBurner page, which they refer to as their BrowserFriendly page. FeedBurner.
