Google has launched an improved URL removal tool that will make it easier to request updates based on changes on other people’s websites. Okay, so you have a list of bad, low quality, toxic, suspicious, and unnatural links to your site. Document everything in a spreadsheet (urls, dates contacted, etc.). Identify the links that have been removed or URLs that used to link to you that have been removed.

Someone recently asked me about redirecting their old web pages (their old URLs) to the new URLs because they redesigned their website. However, we forgot to catalogue all of the old URLs on the old website, and therefore we have no way of knowing what the old URLs were on the site, so we can redirect them to the new URLs. But what if you redesign your website and don’t make a list of all of your old pages?

Yet another proven method is to submit your website URL to web-directories with decent Google page rank, ex: Yahoo and D’moz. Create a list of reputable directories (categorize paid and free ). Create a spreadsheet to document the submission process, with fields that include: directory URL, Category submitted, URL submitted, date of submission, title/anchor text submitted, status. List the domains/urls you need to submit (don’t always submit the home page).

The Alexa Rankings, however, are different than the Alexa Hot URLs , which isn’t as easily manipulated and therefore I would assume is more accurate. The Alexa Hot URLs is a list of the hottest web pages on the internet right now according to the Alexa Toolbar; and the list is updated every five minutes. There are several ways to use the Alexa Hot URLs list. Some blog posts and whiny rants might even last a day on the Alexa Hot URLs list.

In case your product has variations in color, size, shape get an image of each & make a separate list of each variant. Lack of common structure to URLs means you'll have to get the product URLs manually. Simply make use of Xpath to discover data on a web page at a defined URL & import the data into Google Sheets. Later populate the sheet with each product’s URL. Just drag the formulas down the columns to get info on product from varied URLs.

Unless you use a URL lengthener, an application that restores the original link based on a shortened link from bit.ly, is.gd, tinyurl, etc. I installed the Long URL Please plug-in and now when I open a DM, original, not shortened, links are visible. Expo, and with Long URL Please could see that the link had the right domain, web2expo.com.
