Feedburner used to be a wonderful company with an amazing tool that had responsive customer service — until Google bought them.

Bloggers who had earned a decent or better Page Rank saw their status tank to zero once Google realized they were being being paid for certain posts by advertisers. To its credit, Google also penalized its own Japan division who used the pay per post tactic in an attempt to compete against Yahoo.

These large sites ( Google, Apple, Yahoo, Microsoft ) have complex back end programming that make the site run as expected as well as front end programming to control the incoming traffic and direct it to available servers, known as load balancing. Large popular sites are typically the victim. That DID NOT happen today.
