Here are a few statistics I received from a Salesforce community manager: 233,330 registered users. I was unable to get statistics for “lurkers&# , but I am sure it is high. The statistics were pretty surprising for what was generated in the Dreamforce event community: 14,753 attendees opted into the social network.

Based on current statistics , the average person is spending more and more of their time glued to social media versus traditional sites. Conventional wisdom tells us that brands should shy away from politics and keep their social feeds strictly focused on business. Drive website traffic. Brands taking a stand. Not so fast.

Of course robust data quality and consistency for statistical base-lining are core readiness considerations. If companies don’t feed their CRM beast – the unfed beasts will literally be killed by other companies which will have the discipline and the actionable insights advantage.

Food for thought: recent statistics note that YouTube is the most widely-used social media platform by far. And on the flip side, you might see negative comments that serve as constructive criticism. You can almost think of the Community tab as a secondary social media wall or feed you’d see on Facebook or Twitter.

Source: Twitter The more controversial the poll, the more likely you’re going to be to generate more engagement—users may start duking it out in the comments or share the results on their own feeds. Controversial doesn’t necessarily mean serious. It has a ton of engagement just based on how beautiful the photo is.
