Dear Blog Comment Spammer, who just left a comment on one of my recent blog posts: I think whatever software tool or script that you are using is broken. Whatever the reason, you should have noticed that none of the blog comments that are left on my blog actually allow outgoing links to websites.

As some of you may know, I recently launched a photography blog, Photostry. And one thing I discovered very quickly about the photo community is if you want comments, you better start giving comments first. Once I started interacting, I saw my own comment numbers start moving in the right direction as well.

When you have a fairly popular blog, you have to deal with comment spammers. Unfortunately, blog comment spamming still works apparently, or at least the blog spammers haven’t learned that it doesn’t work. Nonetheless, I’m still amazed at some of the comments left on the blog.

Because if there’s one thing I believe takes public relations from good to great, it’s when your audiences start becoming your community through the relationships you develop with them. But I was curious to see how Maddie and Lindy perceived not just Open Community , but its juxtaposition with public relations.

A Better Blogroll If you like highlighting other bloggers on your site via a blogroll, you will probably find that as you add more and more to them, it becomes a huuge list. Try the Better Blogroll plugin. I love how, when you click on an image, it starts the slideshow right on your blog! Which means it’s very long.
