If you are in a niche that doesn’t have a large traditional media presence (niches like Internet marketing, SEO, or social media) you might not notice this because there is little media competition. In terms of affiliate marketing, it’s usually much better to own the product at the top of a Clickbank category and having thousands of people promoting it for you, rather than being one of the thousands of people promoting a product for someone else. The reason for this is that usually there is a large marketing campaign prepared for when these products launch and many affiliates send emails to their lists. Unless there is a lot of untapped potential, you have an amazing domain name or get very, very lucky, it just isn’t going to happen.
