First, I’m going to say kudos to Apple for trying involve themselves in the world of social media. Let’s envision this scenario: a user has a support issue about an Apple product. Apple has no such protocol in place, and at this point, there is no engagement. I’m going to stop there, though. No acknowledgment.

After two-and-a-half years, iPhone app developers are getting fed up with Apple’s lengthy and often inconsistent approval process. may not seem like much, but the fact that Apple is taking 30% of all app profits has stirred some unrest. Developers can completely bypass Apple’s money-grubbing, dictatorial policies.

But over the past few months, the Facebook community has become a huge success and is continuing to flourish, and my classmates are slowly beginning to join the network. Well, for one, social media users — that is, users on social news sites such as Digg, Mixx, Reddit — are not particularly enthusiastic about the proliferation of marketers in their community. Reaching out to bloggers and online communities, it hit both the NY Times and Wall Street Journal in the first week of publication.

Some even boast high rankings and good sized communities. It took me 6 months to acquire a good amount of traffic and cultivate a community on my blog and the same goes for any new blogger. Glen amazes me with his blogging and web design skill and also his ability to make money and still bind the community.

That story hit the front page of Reddit and on Digg , and 67 people voted on my comment : Props to Reddit for visibly interacting with the community it serves. I actually found Digg’s community to be more open and accepting than Reddit’s, but to be fair I probably approached Reddit in the wrong way. Answers Yahoo!
