First, I’m going to say kudos to Apple for trying involve themselves in the world of social media. Let’s envision this scenario: a user has a support issue about an Apple product. If it was a Comcast product, you’d get a near immediate response from Frank Eliason , the company’s Director of Digital Care.

The Apple Students Group is a great way for Apple to market its own products, and over the summer, it offered free songs through iTunes.

Unfortunately for Digg, the savviest users of the bunch have also been the most vocal about Digg thus far (save for the few blogs that cover everything web 2.0 This is not a regular practice on the social news giant, and unfortunately, that is probably the biggest thing causing its downfall. Time will only tell.
