I should mention that Google announced a few months ago they do not crawl the keywords tag anymore. My first major website made money through contextual advertising (Google Adsense) and selling ads on a CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) basis. To do this, I use the Google external keyword tool. The tool gives you a good idea of how many people are searching for X ( X being anything) in Google.

I may be wrong, but if you check your analytics stats right now, one of the most naturally clicked pages on your site is your about page. This is similar to how many of us don’t notice ads on websites, especially the ones in Google search results; we initially see but then ignore them so often that they may as well not be there.

Before I talk more about this, I do want to say that Google look down on sites selling text links. They do not get to see the actual domain until they purchase the link, which helps protect you from companies like Google finding out if you’re selling links. Thats insane, I have had sites sandboxed by google for 3 months.
