Back then, if you wanted to visit a website, you would enter the URL in the address bar of your web browser. If the Internet does another thing amazingly well, it allows anyone to link to other content and makes all of our content more findable, shareable and expandable. We take links and linking for granted today.

If the word “codes” freaks you out, think of them as labels or tags that you add to a URL. UTM parameters are tags you add to the end of a URL to tell Google Analytics (or your CRM) a full story about where and why a person clicked.
