Links from a variety of different types of websites with an extremely varied usage of anchor text make for a great, natural profile. Links can do this regardless of whether or not they contain the “nofollow” attribute, contain redirects, come from a site with a high PageRank , and so on. Join communities like My Blog Guest.

The top results for most keyphrases are either a Wikipedia page, a site that is very focused around community, or a clear leader in an industry. It’s completely pointless being number one in Google for “dog umbrellas&# if nobody is typing it into the search box and looking to keep their dogs dry in the rain.

Tweet Spinner actually lets you schedule different Twitter backgrounds, bios, and profiles, so that you can see which profile types might get the most engagement. Although I don’t have any goals for the size of the community here, I still think it is an interesting metric to monitor. I’m about two weeks away from releasing my first software product, and I can’t wait to see the reaction in the marketing community. I hope this month is a great one for all of you!

I don’t use it so much for the figures that they give, but it gives far better phrases that I wouldn’t think of using or typing into the Google Keyword tool. Owned by Yahoo, the site allows me to quickly save webpages I find and organise them using tags. Is your browser bookmarks bar overloaded and hard to organise?

I could set-up discussion forums that charge a monthly fee or even some type of games website that charges members to play. Instead, I’m going to go back to my favourite type of marketing: affiliate marketing. Including Yahoo and Bing, that’s around 100,000 people per month searching for this term. Dont be that guy!
