It was really an impulsive decision but I stuck with it so far and I am beginning to reap the rewards of managing a local blog for the community. The community that has been built continues to surprise me. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. I setup a Twitter account almost immediately when I started the blog.

On a more complex level having a full blog platform like WordPress helps with SEO and a hundred other things. But I don’t need that to get the blog becoming the central hub for the community, which is the plan. WordPress Blog I believe that any companies social media presence hinges on a blog of some kind.

Once a dormant social site that I used only for aggregating my rss feeds has now become a full fledged community. This caused such an outcry by the Facebook community that several groups formed almost immediately calling for Facebook to change their terms of service back to normal. This didn’t seem to be enough for the community and the people kept complaining. One of the reasons we updated our terms was to make this more clear.

List it on Freecycle , a nonprofit community group that encourages users to give away old items instead of throwing them away. Why pay $20 to see a Van Gogh when you can study his work for free?
