I did some tweaking on the @paragonamerica profile, it had about 6 followers at the time and started feeding in some updates and links to news about the company. There are some contributing factors like the company already maintaining the corporate @paragonsoftware profile. I started a company blog on WordPress.com.

What I mean by decent leads is that you can see if there are companies looking for people with specific skills but your resume is going to be thrown into a pile of 1000 others that may or may not get looked at even once. As a person looking for work, you need to track down the HR or hiring manager on your own to make initial contact.

I fought the good fight despite the company selling their product direct. The company has a global presence in disaster recovery and disk maintenance. Being out of a job is not very fun.

I guess after reading this post on Mashable about the two companies the reason for the lack of adoption was due to issues with their service. Gowalla launched at the same time at SXSW but I only heard about them this year. I downloaded the free Gowalla app from the iTunes store and started to play around. Use wp_list_categories() instead.

The software company I worked for as a Business Development Manager locating top partners and getting them to sell our products had to cut expenses.
