Publish the data in a.PDF and then provide a useful amount of the results: let people pay for the full report or ask them to fill out a contact form to download. Start pitching those articles directly to the press, media, journalists, reporters. Once you’ve published the content on your site, you can collect leads using it.

A good way to investigate this is to review the Crawl Errors report in Google Webmaster Tools, which shows URLs with 404, 500 and other errors that Google encountered while crawling the site. As I covered in SEO Guidelines for Sponsored Content and Partner Links , there are SEO implications to be aware of.

Google wants links in advertorials to be tagged with the nofollow attribute and the FTC requires full disclosure. I would like to note that those text link ads do not appear to have the “nofollow” attribute on them. So how does Google find and penalize websites who have links from advertorials?

Every web portal has to abide by Google’s webmaster guidelines to reach amongst the top ranking in search engine results. Avoid posting links on random or affiliated websites rather nofollow the link or remove them. Google and various other search engines have laid down strict guidelines to avoid Link network tactics.

Bloggers who are compensated can use the “nofollow&# tag within their outbound links to keep those links from being tagged by Google as paid content. The nofollow may well make that harder, but then again, if you are under contract I think it’s the buyer’s responsibility to track the postings of the paid blogger.
