You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers. Around two years ago I had over 350 feeds in there as I was a total information junkie. No problem.

If you share too many then you definitely run the risk of showing off or alienating current readers, so sprinkle them in your current design if you have some to share. A few people on Twitter noticed my sidebar testimonials / quotes have been up for a few weeks now and asked me how they were converting. Implement a Feed Footer.
