I offered the alternative CloudBlueprint strategy, which has proven popular, and two women making $5K per month proved that you can implement it into a blog as well. Email one gets a lot of unsubscribes as people often just sign-up for a freebie (such as my 10K eBook) and cancel their subscription straight away.

Give them a reason to subscribe, like a free ebook or a mini course. What I should’ve done: I should have signed up on day one with an email subscription service like Aweber , and offered an ebook or mini course for subscribers. You could then have a ten-part auto-responder course (or ebook) that gives great content, for free.

The results were impressive; 872 people downloaded the book in the first 24 hours, 1,587 had downloaded it by the third day, and the book keeps getting downloaded (on days with zero special promotion, I’m averaging 30-50 new subscribers). Do these descriptions sound like viable strategies to you?

It’s not that you can’t grow your site – because even ugly blogs with no about page can gain an audience – it’s just that you could probably be getting better results (more subscribers, more sales, more pageviews) from your traffic generation strategy.
