Besides major usability issues , duplicate stories submissions , and ads that literally scream at you , Digg has yet another issue to deal with: privacy. Hopefully Digg will start addressing the aforementioned issue in addition to the other usability issues that plague the system. Indeed it is. No it wont.

I guess it’s assumed in social spaces that when s/he initiates the friend request, you can comment on anything on their Facebook wall or tweet back at them about something personal or even comment on a photo. Unless the comments are not appropriate, no offense should be taken at all by the other person.

I have gotten very used to a certain (large) lack of privacy in most traditional senses. And head over to the nice, ad-free Here Comes the Guide site and plan your wedding in peace and privacy. I originally tried to leave a comment on his article ‘Are there some things that shouldn’t be tweeted about ‘ but when it vanished into the ether upon submission, I figured it made more sense to blog a full response here. Does Twitter differ to reporting on the same event for print or TV?

Tell people how to report issues they may have seen or experienced. DON’T engage with negative coverage or comments. DON’T comment on legal matters pertaining to the company. You may also wish to add links to company documents, such as your corporate code of conduct, employee agreements, privacy policies, etc.

I have never written a product review on my blog and my posts average 30 comments. However, after writing a product review on my blog recently, after 24 hours I only had 3 comments on the post (which is very unusual). This particular article is top notch and prompted me out of the woodwork into the comments. Great post, Oni!
