On Thursday, April 16, 2015, Google announced that they are beginning to remove the domain name from the mobile search results. Rather than displaying a URL in the search results or a domain name, Google has begun to display a website name or a website name and a breadcrumb of the website’s page.

Back in 2017, the original Nyaa torrent site named for cat’s meow in Japanese shut down. In the wake of the shutdown, various forks of the site popped up, all using the Nyaa domain name. Recently, the site’s team has created the torrent cache iTorrents, which is used by multiple search engines. and Nyaa.cat.

It blew up in a private forum so to speak, a place where the general public (and the search engine crawlers) didn’t have access to: Facebook. In 2013, Google really turned Search Engine Optimization on its head and ‘shook really hard’ so to speak. And, as well, in 2015. But that’s not where it blew up.
