If you don’t read the rest of this very long post then let me summarise it as this: Google is failing to enforce their guidelines on a huge scale, especially when it comes to big brands. Are Shopify Facebook’s New Partner or Google’s? If they see the brand doing something risky, they short the stock.

I’m aware that admitting and even talking about building a link network probably doesn’t put this brand in a very good light. Please spare the jokes about this brand already having a bad reputation ;). Cnet With More Brand Favoring. A thin page, getting undeserved rankings purely because of their brand name.

To its credit, Google also penalized its own Japan division who used the pay per post tactic in an attempt to compete against Yahoo. Bloggers who are compensated can use the “nofollow&# tag within their outbound links to keep those links from being tagged by Google as paid content.

I’m competing against them in one industry and all factors would suggest I should outrank them, but I simply don’t. The first thing that struck me about the results here is how well the 5th site was ranking when it was so young compared to the other competing sites. 1 site ranking Wikihow. Will you sign a 6 / 12 month non-compete agreement? A non-compete agreement is rarely necessary but if a lot of traffic relies on connections that the seller has then this is a must. Many people are going to want to know your reasons for selling the site, what expenses are involved and whether you plan to build a competing website.
