Most of your Facebook Insights stats around story feedback show engagement rates in that 1% range, give or take.

That’s because Facebook’s EdgeRank formula ensures that only status updates from companies that consumers routinely interact with show up in their news feed (unless the Facebook member changes their News Feed preferences to “Most Recent&# – anecdotally Facebook acknowledges that fewer than 5% do so). Engagement. One of the biggest benefits of social media is generating engagement with both existing customers and potential customers. Tracking engagement can be done on a number of levels. Tools like CoTweet, Hootsuite and Tweetstats allow you to measure these things. Subscriptions. Size matters.

Not only does the CEO of the company contribute with over 24,000 followers, the company has Twitter accounts set up for all of their employees and even has a special page on their servers for a live feed of what people are saying about them on Twitter. Codify Listening & Engagement I still maintain that when the dust settles, we’ll all realize that social media is much better for customer retention than for customer acquisition. There’s a way to get your Facebook update seen in more news feeds. There’s an optimal time of day and day of week to tweet.
