It’s certainly not unthinkable that someone will import your RSS feed into another website without ever gaining any permission to do so. Why is it that these web applications allow users to rate an article before they’re even forwarded to it? I think the big issue here is more about sites with snippets of text.

I’d love to befriend everyone or even specify groups of friends to which I’d subscribe so that I can get updates delivered to my RSS reader (versus other updates that I would check on a more infrequent basis), though for the time being, the team has not worked that out. Google, Wikipedia and FriendFeed.

So maybe some SU self-promoters consider someone subscribing to them on StumbleUpon similar to being subscribed to via RSS, email, etc. – they believe the subscriber subscribes because they do want updates from that person’s site, just like a RSS feed would deliver only updates from their site. I think you’re right.

I love reading new content via RSS, Buzz, Twitter, FB, etc. Don’t turn my Twitter stream into an RSS reader. It is something that always amaze me when I am talking about social application.
