I’m competing against them in one industry and all factors would suggest I should outrank them, but I simply don’t. They’re simply registering on tons of forums and profile websites, placing their link in their bio’s, and then ranking well for their keyphrase. 1 site ranking Wikihow.

Less competing sites on the first page = more clicks on you. They are mostly profiles, forum links and blog posts which are high PR do follow. This is gold.

I don’t use it so much for the figures that they give, but it gives far better phrases that I wouldn’t think of using or typing into the Google Keyword tool. For example, if I want to leave a lot of blog comments, it’s going to be a hassle to constantly type in my name, email, and URL.

In other words, I’m fully aware that this blog post will make a particular type of person unsubscribe from ViperChill and likely never return. Google are great at making people fearful of performing any type of SEO. Anglo Rank was a small network being promoted on the Black Hat World forums.

On any given day you can literally find the same type of blog posts on dozens of different websites. Simply enter the type of niche you’re in or even the phrases from some of your most popular posts and see what else people are looking for. It’s a nice coincidence though. BTW, nice post.

Those who want to invest in websites browse for and purchase the types of sites they want. In cases like that I may type the phrase into Google and contact the owners of the sites on the second page. Will you sign a 6 / 12 month non-compete agreement? My favourite website marketplaces include sites like Flippa and Digitalpoint.

First, if you look at their traffic stats with Compete you can see that they have traffic spikes and dips at around the same time: Then, looking at feed subscribers , despite the large difference at the start of the graph, their growth rate is on a very similar consistent rise.
