My friends at ExactTarget announced a moment ago that they have acquired CoTweet , the leader in enterprise Twitter management, and will be building a social products lab to add tie-ins for Facebook, YouTube, and other elements of the social communication ecosystem. Really, what is social media from the brand perspective but email 2.0?
However, research from ExactTarget and CoTweet (disclosure: both are clients) found that 65% of Facebook users do not log-in during the workday, but rather at night and on weekends. However, the ExactTarget/CoTweet research found that 70% of consumer do not believe that clicking “like&# means “it’s okay to market to me&#.
Each week, I compose a newsletter for our team that includes a series of links about current events and trends in the worlds of technology, social media, mobile, communications and marketing in order to keep our wider team up to date on changes, newsworthy items and content that might be useful in their jobs. These are those links.
Once you select your criteria, Formulists instantly creates the list for you, and you can then view it from Twitter.com, Twitter on a mobile device, or any Twitter client such as CoTweet (client) , Hootsuite, and the rest. Formulists is free, and they allow 15 new users per day.
With the advent of mobile, entire operating systems running on the browser, cloud-based personal information stores and APIs such as Kynetx to manage both user and application data for the user, we are so close to being where we want to be! Perhaps it was hearing Ev emphasize “yet&# when talking about CoTweet -like functionality.
The concept is easy to understand, where ever you go no matter where, click a few keys on your mobile phone and let the world know where you are. There are bound to be more location based mobile applications that hit the market. Do you use a different app? Leave a comment!

slydial is a free voice messaging service that connects you directly to someone’s mobile voicemail. With some mobile phones, we are able to display a “missed call&# from you (after all you did try to call them!). ¬ i’ll have to give it a try with my fiends mobiles today. Paul’s last blog post.
The service, which is currently available to AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers, is free. Personally I can see many positive uses for the service but like most useful services, there will be the people that use TrapCall for less than pure reasons.

What I would be really interested in seeing is a Twitter app that not only shows you who is following you but can show you which of your followers actually have mobile updates turned on for you. I know that most people want to increase there Twitter numbers and I am happy to add to that for them. Does that already exist?

Remember the Milk is a web based applicaiton that can be used from a computer, mobile email or my favorite Twitter. I came across RTM or Remember the Milk about a year ago when it was all the buzz in Social Media. I didn’t set up an account until today.
EmailTwitter – allows you to post Twitter updates and retrieve your Twitter timeline via your cellular phone or other e-mail enabled mobile device, without incurring SMS fees. It’s nicely designed, and it displays your Twitter avatar next to the tweets.
One of the first news tracking profiles I followed and set up mobile notifications of was called sfquake. Here is a story from the Los Angeles Times discussing how Twitter beat mainstream news to breaking the story about the 5.4 earthquake in July.

I’m merely a passive observer for now, but certainly the mobility you have is exactly what I crave. THEN on the bottom left corner of my spaces I have another window always running in Safari that only has 4 tabs running: Google Calendar, CoTweet, Hootsuite, facebook and Basecamp. I LOVE this setup!
Joe Fernandez is CEO of Klout , a provider of influence metrics that is being incorporated into a variety of social media tools (including CoTweet , a client of mine) Jay Baer : What’s changed in the last two years or so with regard to access to influencer information? But there is going to be an explosion of other smart agents.
