While community is a hot buzz word these days, it’s still quite a ways before most businesses truly embrace the idea. Companies like Starbucks , Dell , even my previous employer Microsoft Advertising , all do community incredibly well and it has paid off for all of them many times over.

But, facebook.com/mntimberwolves appears to be available, and their Twitter handle is @mntimberwolves. It’s a good mix of coach-speak, highlights, community service footage, and cheerleader features. The Twitter background includes zero evidence of any other outpost. Linked from Twitter. So, I peeked at YouTube.

million followers on Twitter? Look to Facebook Somewhat surprising (at least to me) was the finding in the Forrester study that 62% of influential impressions from Mass Influencers took place on Facebook, with Twitter just 10%. Same with the message board trolls, who are all too easy to overlook in favor of bloggers and Twitterers.

Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. I find it to be especially valuable and hassle-free for updating Twitter, Facebook, and LInkedin simultaneously. Tweetie This extremely intuitive Mac-only app is my hour-to-hour choice for Twitter. If you’re serious about Twitter, this is a great app.

The huge growth of online sites like Youtube, Twitter and Facebook, which have the potential to give anyone a large audience are a great example of this in action. When I was in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago I wrote about it on Facebook and Twitter. Three of the sites actually had in excess of 45,000 Twitter followers.
