Not just being talked about but be an active voice in the community. Ideas and good products spread faster.

In my upcoming book, The New Community Rules: Marketing on the Social Web ( Amazon link ), which is slated to be released in late Spring, I talk about the importance of brand evangelism as part of an effective community management strategy. I just think that the *active* cruise community is definitely a bit disappointed.

Better yet, let’s just chat at an upcoming industry event instead of scheduling a dedicated meeting. You can see all the places I’ll be on my FB page or Upcoming. I hearken back to the magazine rack on the street corner that had the sign if you read it you bought it. That’s where I try to steer people now.

In other words, they don’t give a damn about the community and they seemed to have moved on — perhaps completely. Instead, since they weren’t, we are left to our own devices and seek alternative methods (which are not the right avenues of communication, but what do you do when the proper roads lead you to a dead end?).
