In the first two weeks of November 2012 we had close to 300 people find our site through Christmas-themed search terms, suggesting this trend will continue. Having said that, I’m anticipating that in the run up to the festive season we’ll see a bump in Christmas-themed search traffic.

What worked in 2011 may or may not be as effective in 2012. Isn’t Feedburner my mailing list? Feedburner only delivers your latest blog posts to a subscriber’s inbox. As each year passes, blog marketing techniques evolve. Promoting your content from your blog and other sites you contribute to. Monetization.

After a year of running the site it had 4,000 subscribers and 6 months after that my Feedburner chicklet had just ticked over 7,000. Those came two years later in 2012, and more recently now in 2014. That probably doesn’t sound a lot now, but it was quite a big deal back then. My prediction was correct.
