When you have a group of people submitting their work, there is an awareness that it isn’t just one idea that will work, so the result is a higher quality of work. Crowdsourcing is an useful model because it can be used by any group for any reason. As they saying goes, competition breeds excellence.

Livestream and Ustream have been around for years, and Google+ Hangouts On Air were an incredible innovation. Despite the initial exclusivity to create interest, Facebook Live is now available to both profiles and pages, as well as Groups and Events, making it an integrated way to communicate with your audience, wherever that might be.

We did some research around this issue and published a white paper detailing the case for integrating time-honored emergency response expertise with real-time social input. In addition to those in the room on August 12, another 1,200 contributors joined online via ustream and Twitter.

One person speaks, the other person handles technical issues and answers live questions via chat. By the time we made it to Raffels Cafe, we had a group of over 10 people.

Using Digg as an instrument to get Digg’s attention has never clearly had an impact until last week’s “revolt,&# and the only reason why it had an impact then was because it was done off Digg’s site (in this case, Ustream ) and had plenty of press people standing behind it.

One of the local Twitterati here had Chris Brogan up to Maine for a social media conference, and I caught it on UStream. Wanted to point out that we have a strong presence on Twitter (since August) with team of 19 social media specific Care folks on Twitter and Facebook taking care of customer questions and issues six days a week at [link].
