Submit website to several (50+) paid and free directories (start with Yahoo Local, Google Places, Yelp Business Pages etc). Submit articles to article publishing sites like Ezine, Hubpages, etc. Include internal links within each webpage and use keyword rich anchor text. Include key phrase in article title if possible.

I’m more on the fence, though, about directory submissions and article submissions – especially with automated submissions tools.

The benefit of directories like Ezine and Article Dashboard is that you don’t have to build your own website and you can usually rank quite highly for the phrases used in an article title because the site has so much ‘weight’ in Google.

Utilise Free Content Sites Another link source that I don’t really love but I see doing well for a lot of sites is utilising free content sites like Squidoo , Gather and Hubpages. Use Article Directories A much better source of links if you want to receive them in return for your content is using article directories.
