Twitter as a feed reader (for more important feeds). I subscribe to nearly 150 feeds and have no systematic way of reading them ( unlike Robert Scoble ). Sometimes, I’ll read the noisier (and most frequently updated) feeds first so I can tune into the more important feeds later. link] Thanks again.

The easiest thing to do is to setup your keywords to be delivered via RSS to the feed reader of your choice (google reader, bloglines, etc). Following in the hopes they will follow you back and buy your stuff is not a good strategy. Then the best thing to do is read the tweet and see if it even warrants you talking to them.

A few weeks ago, jwz posted a great piece on how to access Facebook via a feed reader. I now have status updates in my feed, and finally, I can see both happy and sad news. So many people use LinkedIn this way; I’d be surprised if less than 90% of LinkedIn’s community didn’t. It’s not.

Track things like audience/community sentiment (positive/negative) if you want to map effort to results. Use social networks respectfully to share the best of your content, in a community-appropriate setting. Remember that community and marketplace are two different things. Make it easy for your community to reach you.
