Same with the message board trolls, who are all too easy to overlook in favor of bloggers and Twitterers. Don’t assume that the person that gave you one star on a Yelp review is some sort of carnival freak outlier. It’s entirely possible she is a Mass Influencer.

Excellent for down-and-dirty competitive analysis. SocialMention For more comprehensive social media searching, I use SocialMention , which indexes blogs, tweets, message board posts, and a lot more. I implement bit.ly URLs whenever possible, and make liberal use of their “+&# feature. Try it yourself.

Forums : I used to be a forum (message board) junkie a few years ago and definitely built my authority in some. I have 3 blogs as well as a website, twitter, facebook, myspace, yelp, and silly me they all have different names. I am already doing that. I’m a mess huh. LOL) and link all the others to it. I loved FB because it wasn’t myspace and wasn’t full of junk, spam and porn and when it opened to everyone, i was afraid it would become just like that. I think people opted for FB over MySpace because of so many of the reasons people are becoming disenchanted with FB right now. and I felt the same way as you did.
