I, too, find that Twitter has been incredibly powerful for me to connect with real life colleagues, readers of Techipedia, family, and everyone in between. I’m also something of a Twitter purist. Enter a second Twitter account. With Twitter being so incredibly large and vast, there are different types of mini-communities.

A blogger might say that he wants to write for a specific publication, sending emails and instant messages asking, “Hey, I really like that you write for this publication. Social media is all about community, and that community exists whether you need them or not. A blog is a two-way communication.

Yammer is a microblogging application similar to Twitter, only it’s focused on businesses. Instant Messaging has become so ubiquitous that almost everybody is, at a minimum, familiar with the tool and how it’s used. Start small and start with something that’s familiar to your user community.

With the initiative for Facebook to be open and to empower businesses to host pages that celebrate their business, offering deals and giving the community the ability to converse directly with the business or entity these pages represent, you forgot about accountability. I want Facebook to look at this guy on Twitter. You are so right!
