In a few weeks were going to be looking at blogs in the Work Literacy course. Talent Management, and Employee Engagement (a PDF file) that finds: 52% of organizations that adopt blogs, wikis, and social networking tools (among others) achieved best-in-class performance levels compared to 5% for those that didnâ??t.

Though one should write with robots in mind, this is still a human network, so write as if you want someone to actually read your profile. Here’s the first paragraph of my summary: I show businesses how to use social media technologies for external community building and outreach, and for internal collaboration.

Founded by four ex-Googlers, FriendFeed allows you to subscribe to your friends’ updates across 35 social networks and to stay up to date with the content they’re discovering and sharing across the web. That is, of course, if your friends are using Twitter. FriendFeed takes this idea and goes a step further.

You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers. This is a community site where the content with the most votes gets pushed to the homepage. Cheers Oscar.

Despite the fact that Facebook has the most customizable privacy settings of all social networks (though we could argue with their effectiveness in a whole other post), people don’t like maintaining a “business&# identity on the same profile as their “personal&# (fun?) I’d be honored to have you join me.
