The most obvious evidence being the upcoming changes to Picasa and Blogger: both will soon be re-branded, likely as Google Photos and Google Blogs respectively. Google IS search. You can choose and customize between different layouts can be incorporated with other Google services like Feedburner, Picasa etc.
