The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. I became a lot more conservative in choosing my friends in Facebook (as broken down in the chart below) with a few exceptions because Facebook is starting to blend in with my social media enthusiasm. I had many friends just like that.

My uncle knows a young girl from his community, a recent college graduate, who is looking for a social media job. Facebook is a social network and its intended purpose is online networking. I joined in early 2004 (I have a 6 digit Facebook ID, 102991, and signed up when Facebook was open to about 3 universities).

See, I’m one of those Facebook users who have been on the service since February 2004, which is quite a long time considering Facebook was open to about three schools at the time that I signed up. These are friends who have no direct ties to the industry, but in using social networks, we’ve formed close bonds and friendships.

As a college graduate and early adopter of Facebook (in 2004), I could definitely see that. Why did I join in 2004? It was a real private but promising social network. One was in college in 2004, while the other was in high school. Quite often, finding a teacher on MySpace doesn’t bode well with the community.
