Use HootSuite to publish content to multiple social media accounts and/or platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Ping.fm (which pushes to many other platforms) and now they’ve just added WordPress functionality. cross-post your updates to Jaiku and many other sites like Facebook , MySpace , LinkedIn and more via Ping.fm.

You can also connect Twitterfeed to update new RSS feed items to Facebook, Ping.FM, Statusnet, and HelloTxt. In HootSuite, you can send RSS feed updates to any profiles you are managing through their tool, including multiple Twitter accounts, Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace, Ping.fm, etc. Facebook Status Update vs. Attach Link.

Test what others can see by going to My Account > Privacy and typing someone’s name in. Look at stats to see what types of links are most popular. Additional privacy settings are available under many of your Tabs. Check monthly as Facebook changes their TOS (terms of Service) frequently. Watch your ad stats.

If you want a more close knit type of social media, plurk, hands down. I think plurk is more for networking and twitter more for tweeting news/events/links.
