As a college graduate and early adopter of Facebook (in 2004), I could definitely see that. Why did I join in 2004? It was a real private but promising social network. One was in college in 2004, while the other was in high school. Professionalism and Privacy. Initial audience. I have two younger sisters.

I had graduated college the previous year, so many of my classmates seemed to have “moved on&# from the social sites of my time (all of which have dissolved). Right now, the privacy measures for such things are tight, so you need to opt-in entirely for this. Facebook is still expanding.

In fact, you can validate that by cross checking my user ID, 102991, which should indicate that I’ve been around for a real long time (since February 2004, to be more precise). I don’t run into a lot of issues, other than how difficult they make it to make privacy changes and remove/change apps and such.

The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. I became a lot more conservative in choosing my friends in Facebook (as broken down in the chart below) with a few exceptions because Facebook is starting to blend in with my social media enthusiasm. I had many friends just like that.
