My uncle knows a young girl from his community, a recent college graduate, who is looking for a social media job. I guess it’s assumed in social spaces that when s/he initiates the friend request, you can comment on anything on their Facebook wall or tweet back at them about something personal or even comment on a photo.

The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. I became a lot more conservative in choosing my friends in Facebook (as broken down in the chart below) with a few exceptions because Facebook is starting to blend in with my social media enthusiasm. I had many friends just like that.

See, I’m one of those Facebook users who have been on the service since February 2004, which is quite a long time considering Facebook was open to about three schools at the time that I signed up. These are friends who have no direct ties to the industry, but in using social networks, we’ve formed close bonds and friendships.

I had graduated college the previous year, so many of my classmates seemed to have “moved on&# from the social sites of my time (all of which have dissolved). But over the past few months, the Facebook community has become a huge success and is continuing to flourish, and my classmates are slowly beginning to join the network.
