Newsletter are a regular update of what's new and popular in the community. Mass Mass e-mails/notifications are rarer, incredibly important, announcements that can't wait until the newsletter (or dwarf the importance of a newsletter. Use Unifying discussions, major events, significant milestones, important activities need a push. The difficult job for marketing is figuring out the sequence of events that brought them there. This would show you, for example, that registration rates are twice as high from a newsletter as from a tweet. The value of those registrants divided by the cost of the newsletter is an ROI metric. IMAGINE YOUR REALITY | WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2011 Too many social event sites And my first stop with such activities is to go to social event sites and post about the upcoming workshops. There’s also local event sites such as calagator and PDX mindshare and lets not forget Facebook and Linkedin. It’s exhausting really…posting your classes or events on a bunch of social event sites in the hopes of catching interest is exhausting. I’ll admit that I’ve gotten used to ignoring the events other people post, because it just seems like so much more spam that I have to work my way through. This book works. MORE >> -
