WEB METRICS GURU | MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2011 Klout is getting better – Like the new direction – though the analytics are still a work in progress Was meaning to write this post about Klout but didn’t have the time and have been penning it for a few days – and. Perhaps, Klout ought to let people notify them when going off for a vacation, or getting sick, because those things will affect your Klout Score negatively, yet they are a real part of life, and people do take vacations, and they do get sick – or need to withdraw, from time to time, yet should not be penalized for it. 'Last week at Social Capital Ottawa I moderated rountable discussions on analytics and digging deep to gain real insight. It was clear from those who participated that people are using and are keenly interested in analytics, but that information they are gleaning is largely superficial. None of the participants (about 15) were actually looking any deeper into web or social analytics to understand how users navigate a website or use the content they find to gain any better understanding of their audiences. According to the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee , Klout was used to help identify the participants, and the list was augmented manually with known local bloggers, gadflies, and connectors. do not know how many of the 46 were “found” by Klout versus already known by the committee, and it’s not particularly relevant.
