And yes, you need a mixture of both Dofollow and Nofollow links, because that’s what natural link building looks like. How do you know whether a blog is Do or Nofollow? Personally, I use SEOBook Toolbar (free download), which has a function to highlight Nofollow links on any given page. CommentLuv Links.

Subscriber Stats I really don’t know if I should continue reporting on Feedburner as the count is just far too erratic. But with Feedburner, who knows. Sorry to hear about the whole feedburner thing, I think we are all kind of feeling that it is just way unreliable. Yup you are right about the feedburner stats.

My feed jumped from 8,500 to over 11,500 according to Feedburner. At first I assumed it was a bug, but it has stayed this way for over a week so I’ll assume everything is working as it should (Feedburner usually drops, not increases). As for Feedburner: every day my feed count changes by 1-2k. to the RSS feed.

NoFollow Certain Pages I did say there may be some tactics that people frown upon in this post, and this is the first. The Nofollow attribute was first introduced by search engines to help stop spam on the web from ranking in search results. Similarly, I nofollow links to my about page, my category links and my RSS feed.

Sign-Up To Feedburner – Feedburner was purchased by Google a few years ago for $100m and is one of my favourite services online. No Follow Certain Links – Adding the nofollow attribute to certain links tells search engines not to pass Pagerank to them and not to give any ‘benefits’ to the receiving page or site.
