There are many tools out there which are useful at times (Youtube converters, proxies so I can check search results in another country, etc) which monetise their sites via Adsense and still offer genuine value to users. To me, building a site that makes most of its money with Adsense is simply a site to make money.

No Follow Certain Links – Adding the nofollow attribute to certain links tells search engines not to pass Pagerank to them and not to give any ‘benefits’ to the receiving page or site. I also nofollow links to pages that don’t need my link juice such as About or Contact and even things like my RSS feed.

There are a number of eBook creation tools and software packages out there, but I keep the process fairly simple. A lot of tools that can turn documents into PDF format do not allow custom security settings and most of them cannot export hyperlinks properly. First of all, I write everything in Open Office. It shouldn’t take too long to monitor the streams via a search tool to find the people who talk about things that are interesting to you.
