In my last blog, “ Clout vs. Klout – Or the Real Meaning of Social Influence ,” I pulled together information which concluded that the most visible people are not necessarily correlated with influence, and word-of-mouth recognition can only be harnessed by targeting large numbers of ordinary influencers. That naturally raises the question, “Who are these influencers and how DO we find them?” ” Is there some way of identifying those people who are connected to a critical mass of easily influenced people? Instead of creating a correction, it builds a stratosphere of influence, and creates a perception of unworthiness for the rest of the social web. JUGNOO | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2012 The State of Social Media Marketing 2012 Social marketing software company Awareness has just released the second part of its bi-annual State of Social Media Marketing report for 2012, and it makes for some pretty interesting reading. Surveying 469 marketers from a variety of industries, expertise and verticals, the report looks at how businesses are using social media (or not), the key pain points, and where businesses are heading in 2013.
