We established the hashtag that we would use when blogging or Yammering about the Uconference. While tuning in to hashtags like #gov20camp or #sxsw can give virtual attendees a reasonable feel for the content of the conference, that only works when hundreds of people are actively using the service, giving individual perspectives and updates.

Interestingly, most of the activity on Twitter seemed to be “re-tweets” or posts of media reports from sources like Reuters, CNN or the BBC. And anyone monitoring the hashtags “#swineflu” or “#influenza” (check out [link] or [link] ) knows how active the discussions are around this. Florida has ceased reporting it altogether.
