There are several other options, such as Flickr, Tumblr, WordPress, Blogger, etc… even Ping.fm. It really is a community. I think what delights me most about Amplify is that there really is a community sense to it. I don’t auto-post to all of those, but it’s nice to have the option.

It is amazing the kind of relationship you can build with your community simply by following and listening to your readers. And if your multi-author blog does not have a list like the Famous Bloggers Twitter List , now might be the time to create one to help build community between your bloggers to help boost sharing and promotion.

After using both Plurk and Twitter pretty heavily, I’ve come to the conclusion that Plurk is best at its features for community-building, whereas Twitter succeeds more with its interface that bolsters information-sharing. It works like bit.ly, but incorporates all URL shorteners into the data mix. The dominant URL shortener is also the best – in my opinion – at tracking and analytics. URLs whenever possible, and make liberal use of their “+&# feature. URL to see how many times it’s been clicked on, and by whom.
