Tweet Spinner also has a “nofollow&# user list that will algorithmically never follow users who meet certain criteria. Moreover, you can also nofollow people based on their tweets. NoFollow Certain Pages I did say there may be some tactics that people frown upon in this post, and this is the first. The Nofollow attribute was first introduced by search engines to help stop spam on the web from ranking in search results. Similarly, I nofollow links to my about page, my category links and my RSS feed.

Number of Reviews Reviews are comments that stumblers have left about particular pages. It is not reviews of them, but rather feedback they have given on the pages they stumble across around the web. Number of Subscribers Along with number of reviews, I believe this statistic is one of the most crucial for defining a top user.

Use Postrank to Find Engaging Posts When I wrote a post about the 28 items in my internet marketing toolbox, I covered a nifty little service called Postrank Analytics which lets you see your most shared blog posts on sites like Digg, Delicious and Twitter. These are the people who really make a solid effort — they review the blog content and realize that their pitch might be a further extension of content that they had already seen on the blogs they are targeting. When the pitch goes out, it’s up to the blogger to take the story to heart and possibly share it with their readers.
