That’s what I’ve learned while doing my research for my keynote presentation next week to about 750 retailers. If you are a traditional retailer, you still want that web traffic – but your end game is using it to get face to face with prospects and customers in your store. 3 – Think Like a Community Manager. | | | | | | | FRESHNETWORKS MAY 24, 2011 Why retailer Tesco bought a social media company Whilst some big retailers are still sitting on the sidelines considering whether social media has a role in their business, one of our biggest retailers has acquired its own social media company. Yesterday it was announced that Tesco has bought US word-of-mouth social media company BzzAgent for a reported $60 million. | | FRESHNETWORKS MARCH 28, 2011 How can retailers use online content for in-store engagement? JEFF KORHAN | MONDAY, MARCH 19, 2012 3 Hyperlocal Marketing Success Factors This weekend I worked with local retailers from across the United States – many from small communities that do not appear on most maps. Yet, despite the current economic conditions their retail businesses are doing quite well. Just because a business is local does not mean it understands the local community. It’s another to be important to just a few people – your local community. MORE >> -
FRESHNETWORKS | MONDAY, AUGUST 17, 2009 How online retailers can benefit from social shopping Online retailers are doing relatively well in the current economic climate. Whilst spending is down across the board, online retailers are doing either significantly less badly than their traditional competitors, or they are actually performing strongly. Both ASOS and Vente-Privee are seeing relatively strong performances in a weak retail market. She could post and read about cases on this community platform; ask for advice; compare results; brainstorm on solutions; and go as deeply as she wanted into a specialized issue. Its value was not a list of “benefits” but the community itself: a facilitated joint journey of continuous discovery. Retailers also receive training, resources and support.
